BTV Access Corporation as BTV, Bridgewater Community Television, or Cable 9, is a non-profit enterprise dedicated to serving the Bridgewater community by providing local programming, citizen access to the local television production facilities, and the education to use those facilities.


BTV produces and broadcasts local and regional original programming over cable channel 9 and which currently includes news, sports, religious programming, music, cooking, performing arts, political programming much more. BTV also assists in providing support for the Government Access Channel 22 with town government and school committee meetings. Close to 90% of our programming is shot, edited, and produced by community volunteers.


The BTV Access Corporation is managed by a board of directors, President Peter Murray, Vice President Paul Holmes, Treasure Mike Moriello, Clerk Jim Moore and Members Bob Ladd, Jabbar Al-Obaidi and Tony Esposito. They are responsible for the disbursement of funds and setting policies and procedures.  The board is also responsible for providing and maintaining the studio building, equipment (including the mobile studio), and oversees executive operations.


Jeff Fowler, the station manager, coordinates volunteer efforts. Alicia Fortin produces the station's flagship program, Bridgewater This Week. Jason Pritchard is the associate producer of Bridgewater This Week, and also assists volunteers. John Luck coordinates Government programming, and volunteers as a sports producer.


The BTV Access Corporation is funded by the Bridgewater subscribers of Comcast. A percentage of the operating income of Comcast subscription fees are earmarked to provide for operating expenses and acquisition of equipment.


The BTV Access Corporation employs four individuals beginning with a Station Manager, Jeff Fowler to manage the operation, Event Coordination, and Public Relations of the studio.  News Producer Alicia Fortin is essential to the continued success of the weekly news program ''Bridgewater This Week'', from script writing, ENG field production, studio taping and packaged stories, to the editing of the final product.  Jason Pritchard and John Luck serve as Associate Producers, providing assistance to the News Producer, Station Manager, and community volunteers; they also provide technical assistance and cover town council and School Committee meetings. John and Jason also maintain the Electronic Bulletin Board.  All of the staff help with training and many volunteer productions.  The rest of our functions are performed by our currently active volunteers.


Through its equipment and personnel, BTV offers free training in the use and care of television equipment. The studio also provides opportunity for members of the community to express themselves creatively and get experience in the field of television production.
