Our Mission
BTV Access Corporation (aka BTV, Bridgewater Community Television, or Cable 9) is a non-profit enterprise dedicated to serving the Bridgewater community by providing local programming, citizen access to its television production facilities, and education to use those facilities.
Facility & Productions
BTV produces and broadcasts local and regional original programming over cable channel 9 and btvaccess.com which currently includes news, sports, religious programming, music, cooking, performing arts, political programming and much more. BTV also assists in providing support for the Government Access Channel 22 and Education Channel 98 with town council and school committee meetings. Close to 90% of our programming is shot, edited, and produced by community volunteers.
The BTV Access Corporation is funded by the Bridgewater subscribers of Comcast. A percentage of the operating income of Comcast subscription fees are earmarked to provide for operating expenses and acquisition of equipment.
Through its equipment and personnel, BTV offers free training in the use and care of television equipment. The studio also provides opportunity for members of the community to express themselves creatively and get experience in the field of television production.
If you'd like to see your community event covered, please contact the studio to find out how you can be trained to be a volunteer.
